Tools of the Trade

My photography is rather simple in that I do not have a dozen lenses and several cameras to achieve my results.  With a great DSLR body and a few carefully chosen lenses, you too and have as much fun as I am having!

Camera body:

Nikon d5500

3 Lenses:

Nikon 18-55mm f3.5 kit lens

Petzval Lomography Lens with manual focus and removable apertures

Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 zoom lens

Image Processing:

Adobe Lightroom CC and Photoshop

Invest in a sturdy tripod.  Trust me, you’ll need it.

I also find inspiration in following some really great professionals on YouTube – Serge Ramelli, David DuChemin, Frederick Van Johnson, Josh Cripps, Trey Ratcliff, Jimmy McIntyre, Jasmine Star, Joel Grimes, James Brandon, Zak Arias and Lindsey Adler.  For concert photography, there’s no one better than Gary Brown at Shovelhead Studios.  I also post a lot on http://www.500px.com.  Go to this site and see what the best in the world are doing.  Nothing is more humbling!

Happy Shooting!
