About JW

I’m Justin Wallis.

Born in Oklahoma and raised on family, apple pie, and baseball, my roots run deep—but my heart has always leaned toward the horizon. In this great big world, we only get one life, and I want to see as much of it as I can.

I’m the son of a pharmacist and a SAHM, the youngest of three boys. Every year, my parents took us skiing, and somewhere between the cold air, long bus drives, and mountain views, a love for adventure took hold.

In 2006, I married my person, and we honeymooned in Italy on a guided tour of Rome and the Amalfi Coast. It was beautiful, unforgettable… and clarifying. We realized pretty quickly we didn’t want to experience the world from a tour bus, shuffling with the herd behind the umbrella-holding guide. We wanted to wander. To move slowly. To get lost. To explore places at our own pace.

Since then, we’ve been building a life around travel—seeking out new landscapes, new light, and new stories. Some places never quite let go. The Oregon coast is one of them, calling us back again and again, like a familiar dream.

By day, I’m a medical sales manager. By night (and Sunday morning), I’m a lead singer. Photography started as a hobby while traveling for work—just a few cell phone shots here and there. My wife saw something in them before I did and nudged me toward a “real” camera. After countless tutorials and studying photographers like Nick Page and Mads Peter Iversen, I was hooked.

Now, photography is how I slow the world down. How I pay attention to the curve of a wave or the sun illuminating the water. How I hold onto places that leave their mark. How I find serenity and peace.

Our bucket list is vast.

Follow along as we check it off—one adventure at a time.
